Crunchy stress care is not a scented candle. It is a nervous system with too much caffeine, too little daylight, and no off-ramp. Meditation has some of the better NIH-backed evidence in this whole category — for anxiety symptoms, blood pressure, and IBS — and it still is not a substitute for care when anxiety takes over your life.
